Comfort In Grief

18 karat yellow and white gold | Diamonds

This hand fabricated ring is made from one continuous piece of 18 karat yellow gold wire that has been forged and filed, while the 18 karat white gold sampaguitas are rendered in Rhinoceros 7, 3D printed then cast. The ring form is a weeping willow branch, the branch embraces the wearer's finger because where there is grief there is comfort. The sampaguitas represent my sisters being brought closer together seeking comfort in each other as we experienced grief, while the black diamond that is hidden while the ring is worn represents the loss of our loved ones.
